I had my post all typed, linked and photo downloaded and poof, gone, computer froze...NERTZ!!!!
Okay, do over...
Friday night, Mike and I went to the Etta James concert that was at the Harrah's Casino in Council Bluffs. It was awesome!!! First of all, the casino has set up an outdoor concert area where the stage is built in at the foot of the hotel. Then it has an area in front of the stage for the reserved seats (the stackable plastic lawn chairs) then behind that is more flat space to bring your own chairs. Around it is a bowl shape that goes up to the parking lot level and here you can put lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy the show. We found a perfect spot very close to the gate (for a quick exit), the beer lady for refreshments, and the port-a-potties for, well, you know, beer recycling. It was just cool enough for a light jacket and the bugs were non-existent. PERFECT!!!! While we were waiting for the concert to start, sitting and enjoying the recorded jazz (Louis Prima, he is so fun! He is the original "Jump, Jive and Wail" guy) music that was playing, Mike noticed that way across on the other side was another bar area...he started to panic...what if it had different drinks than our beer lady was serving? But, it was so far aaawwwwaaaayyy! Too far to walk and find out it was the same offering as the one behind us. Crisis!!! Never fear, digital zoom is here! One quick picture with the new camera...instant menu board.
Nothing tripped his trigger to we pleadged our loyalties to the beer lady behind us, I'm sure she was honored. Picture the lunch lady on the Simpson's.
So, back to the main attraction, Etta James rocked that open outdoor area like a Mutha!!!! She was amazing!!! I read somewhere that she is 68 years old, her voice still sounds like a young woman and she can belt it out, like no other granny I have ever heard. We spent the whole night comparing people we know in that age range, to Etta. "Could you imagine So-and-So singing like that?" or "Can you picture So-and-So bumping and grinding like that?"
She did an amazing job and the crowd just loved her. She introduced a song that she said so many people have asked her to sing at their weddings, or told her they got pregnant to, and it is our most favorite song, too, "At Last." We both get goose bumps every time we hear it and I guess everyone else does also because the place went nuts!
She was amazing, I highly recommend going to a concert of hers if you get the chance. She is going to be touring with Al Green and BB King, how crazy would that be?

I've also added some new items to the etsy store. I love these Halloween treat baskets! I always enjoyed leaving little treats on my co-workers keyboards, way before I ever started making these treat baskets. How much more fun would they have been!?! I need to make some for Christmas cause those Secret Santa fun days would be a perfect use for these little baskets, don't you think? Is there something fun like that for Halloween? Don't you think there should be? Love those black vintage glass glitter bats! They aren't as spooky and their real life counterparts!
The baby boy and girl flashcard garlands were lots of fun. I made sure to use regular old plastic silver glitter instead of the glass glitter so the floors in Baby's room would be safe. I also want to do some birth name garlands, so keep an eye out for those.
Thanks to everybody who stopped by to comment on the white pumpkins, I will definitely be making some sets this year, so keep an eye out. I'm thinking of posting them on etsy and taking orders so I know how many to make, the production line will start this week for sure. Thanks also to everybody who attended the garage sale!!! I'll be putting some Christmas items there next so stay tuned!

Love all the items you have on etsy!! Great Blog. Laurie

Somehow time I climbed on is not present and, asking questions, found interesting and not so interesting answers. One of which was - « FailureAccident on the Chernobyl atomic power station, 4 power unit ». I became interesting and thumbing through sites was simply horrified. One I the fellow worker, in the past the meter man, has told about the friend which was the liquidator of consequences of this failureaccident, the truth or not I do not know. But spoke that - « firemen which extinguished a fire there, by turns washed in a showersoul groups, and muzhiks because of an irradiation were shone in darkness, but to live ithim remains few hours ».
